Also
called the Fashion Capital of India, Bangalore keeps pace with
the latest trends and fashion. In fact it is believed that fashion
for the entire country takes its birth in Bangalore. It is the
youth of Bangalore who change to the latest trends in Fashion
in tune with International Fashion. One can see the fast changes
in fashion among the youth if one goes through the famous Mahatma
Gandhi Road and the Brigade Road. Alongwith fashion, Bangaloreans
love fun, music, dance and anything in the name of Entertainment.
If it is good entertainment you are looking for, then it is this
city you have to be. Bangalore is a regular host to many events
in dance, music and other exhibitions
Bangalore
is a city, which not only has a large number of cinema halls but
is also famous for its nightlife. The city is full of life till
late in the night with people visiting cinema halls for late night
shows, disco clubs and night clubs.Bangalore has a thriving club
culture. Some of its clubs have a history stretching as far back
as the heydays of the British Raj. Recent times have seen the
springing up of a number of weekend resorts in and around Bangalore. So
whether you prefer outdoor activity, pub hopping, eating out,
dancing or just relaxing by the pool at a swanky resort with your
family, Bangalore offers you a host of choices.
Some
of the older clubs in Bangalore are: The Bangalore Club, Century
Club and the Bowring Institute. Some of the newer clubs and resorts
include California Resorts, Eagleton Golf Village, Karnataka Golf
Association, The Club, Manipal County, Club Cabana and the Country
Club.Films are a passion with the people of Bangalore. There are
more than 90 cinema halls all over the city, which screen movies
in many languages. So if you enjoy watching films, Bangalore has
a lot to offer you.
The
internet revolution also has its share in providing entertainment
to the people of Bangalore. As it is well known that Bangalore
is the Silicon Valley of India, the people have also got into
the groove of the technology. Cybercafes have become a way of
life in Bangalore with hundreds of them in almost every area of
Bangalore. Recent times have also seen the mushrooming of many
amusement arcades in Bangalore. These arcades offer facilities
like video games, bowling alleys, karaoke parlours, cyber terminals
etc. Another recent phenomenon is the concept of amusement parks
near Bangalore. These are mainly places for family entertainment
and they include facilities like huge swimming pools and water
slides.
Bangalore
is one of the first cities in India to have several multiplexes.
Starting with the Innovative Multiplex at Marathahalli
and Priya Village Roadshow (PVR) in Koramangala, a host
of others I-Max on Magrath Road, and Sigma on Cunningham
Road have joined the band. This, many feel, will revive the fun
of movie going. Priya Village Roadshow (PVR), a joint venture
company between Priya Exhibitors of the Bijli Group of Companies
and Village Roadshow Limited of Australia has taken Bangaloreans
by storm. PVR Bangalore is built over 1,20,000 sq ft of space
and this state-of-the-art multiplex is located in the heart of
Bangalore at the Forum Mall in Koramangla. With a seating capacity
of 2019 seats the PVR Bangalore will screen movies from regional,
hindi and world cinema. This 11 screen multiplex includes two
ultra premium cinemas known as the Gold Class and two luxurious
auditoriums called Cinema Europa in addition to seven Classic
auditoriums.
Gold
Class Cinemas introduced for the first time in India, are two
ultra luxurious exclusive auditoriums, each equipped with 32 plush
fully reclining seats and generous legroom. Patrons can also enjoy
star like treatment at the exclusive Gold Class lounge which provides
an excellent pre cinema experience with scrumptious food and beverages.
After
the tremendous success of Cinema Europa in Delhi, PVR Cinemas
has introduced the concept of luxury viewing to Bangalore as well.
One can expect the very best in world and local cinema to be screened
here. In addition, patrons can pamper themselves with delicious
food and beverages at the Europa Lounge.
Shringar
Cinemas, the second largest multiplex operator in the country
after PVR, sees a growing future for itself in the city. With
its first facility, the four-screen Fame Lido, opening where the
erstwhile Lido theatre used to be, it has two more in the pipeline.
But the city can take in a lot more.
Shringar
is also setting up a multiplex at the Public Utility Building
(Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Tower) where once stood the Symphony,
which had a 1,000 seats theatre.
This
will be turned into a 550-seater. In addition to that, it will
have a 1,350-seater multiplex at the upcoming Sigma Mall on the
Outer Ring Road. It costs Shringar Rs 80,000 on one seat.
But
firms will have to work to get the additional customers for which
there is a potential. With Bangalore having a reputation of a
city with more evolved customers, who prefer convenience, multiplexes
will have to provide quick and easy service, even while buying
a ticket. To differentiate itself from others, Shringar will be
the first multiplex to offer recliners for couples and family.
"The
Forum" on the Hosur Road in Koramangala which offers
people not just food and entertainment, but a totally different
shopping experience. One of the highlights of this mall is the
unique parking facility. Something like a drive-in theatre, it
allows a shopper to drive right into the mall, park his vehicle
and walk just a few steps to enter the shop of his choice.
The
newest addition to the Bangalore Malls in the last one year is
the Garuda Mall on Magarath Road, opposite the Shoppers
Stop. With enough space to park a thousand cars, the city's largest
integrated parking complex and "shoppertainment" centre
is spread over 11 floors and two basements. The Complex includes
2,30,000 sq. ft. of shopping and entertainment space on five floors,
including a five-screen multiplex and a 140-room hotel. Garuda's
entertainment options will include the INOX multiplex with
five screens and 1,350 seats and activity centres for children.
The complex will also offer shoppers a wide range of cuisines
at a food court with over 20 food counters. Besides, there will
be dining options in five exclusive restaurants serving Oriental,
Continental, Mediterranean and Frontier cuisines.
INOX
multiplexes offer an option of 3-5 auditoriums, state of the
art facilities in terms of modern projection and acoustic systems,
THX certified or compliant auditoriums, stadium style high back
seating with cup holder arm-rests, internationally designed interiors,
high levels of hygiene, varied theatre food, selection of Hindi,
English and regional movies, computerized ticketing and most importantly
high service standards upheld by a young and vibrant team
